Limerick senior hurling manager John Kiely encouraged students to seize opportunities at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Community and Industry Scholarship Awards. This year, 18 students received scholarships worth €185,000, part of a programme that has supported 188 students since 2014 with over €1.6 million in funding.The ceremony, held at TUS Coonagh Campus, featured recipient reflections, a fireside chat with John Kiely and Carla DiBenedetto (Director of Regional HR, EMEA at Cook Medical), and insights on leadership, resilience, and opportunity. Scholarship recipients highlighted the value of practical experience, mentorship, and industry connections in bridging academic study and professional development.TUS President Professor Vincent Cunnane and Dr Liam Brown, Vice President of Research, Development and Innovation, praised the programme for supporting student success and strengthening ties with industry and the community.
