Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon organized a solidarity initiative to support the region of Leiria following severe weather damage that affected local communities and institutions. As part of the effort, the university launched a collection campaign for essential goods and deployed technical teams to assist recovery work on the ground.The initiative was carried out under the “Reerguer Leiria” program, which coordinates aid for families and organizations impacted by the adverse weather conditions. Members of the academic community participated by donating nonperishable food items and personal hygiene products at several collection points across the institution’s schools and administrative services.The donated supplies were delivered to Leiria on 2026, contributing to ongoing relief and recovery efforts in the municipality. Through this initiative, the institution reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility and community support during times of crisis.
