
Students and staff at Czech University of Life Sciences Prague celebrated Masopust for the second time with a lively parade of masks, folk traditions and festive food. The event began on 12 February with a colourful procession across campus and continued at the central square.The newly appointed rector officially opened the celebration at noon by symbolically handing over the key to the Masopust queen. Visitors enjoyed traditional Czech music, demonstrations of old customs, and a variety of classic slaughterhouse specialties prepared by the university’s Food Pavilion, along with student beer.Masopust, traditionally observed between Epiphany and Ash Wednesday, once again connected folk heritage with the unique atmosphere of academic life.
