Hungary — The Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) has formalized a strategic cooperation with the Hungarian Defence Forces to advance military recruitment, defence innovation, and practical student training.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Gyuricza Csaba, Rector of MATE, and Colonel Miklós Kaló, Commander of the MH vitéz Reviczky László 1st Territorial Defence Regiment. It renews and expands a previously successful partnership between the university and the military unit.
Under the deal, the two institutions will coordinate education and research programs, support voluntary reservist officer training for students, and collaborate on defence innovation and R&D projects.
The joint statement also highlighted plans to raise awareness of Hungary’s voluntary and contract military service, strengthening the social support of the armed forces and improving recruitment effectiveness.
Dr. Gyuricza emphasized the benefits for MATE: “This partnership will elevate the level of practical training for our students and open new avenues in research and innovation linked to defence and national security.”
The agreement outlines cooperation across five key areas: recruitment, voluntary reservist service, education, scientific research, and defence-focused innovation.
