
Two Maynooth University scholars, Dr Grace Hoysted and Melissa Scully, have been honoured with Fulbright Irish Awards, presented at a ceremony in the US Embassy.
Dr Grace Hoysted, Assistant Professor in Environmental Biology and Sustainability at Maynooth University, will travel to the University of Kansas as part of her Fulbright-Teagasc Scholar Award to conduct research at the International Culture Collection of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (INVAM).
Melissa Scully, a graduate of the Froebel Department of Primary and Early Childhood Education, will spend the upcoming academic year at the University of Montana as a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistantship awardee, promoting Irish language and culture.
Maynooth University President Prof Eeva Leinonen praised both recipients, highlighting their contributions to research excellence and cultural exchange, while US Ambassador to Ireland Edward S. Walsh and Tánaiste Simon Harris commended the Fulbright Programme for strengthening Ireland–US relations.
