Eleven doctoral students at the Medical University of Vienna have been selected for the Austrian Academy of Sciences’ DOC Fellowship Programme, which supports outstanding doctoral candidates across all research fields at Austrian universities. The fellowships allow recipients to focus intensively on completing their dissertations within a defined timeframe. Awarded projects span topics including neurodegenerative diseases, cancer biology, artificial intelligence in science, ophthalmology, dermatology, viral infection mechanisms, and cardiovascular research.
