Mary Immaculate College has received €329,590 in funding from Research Ireland to expand its CRAFT programme and promote hands-on STEAM learning across Ireland’s Mid-West region. The new initiative, CRAFT Across Communities, will bring creative science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics activities to schools, libraries, youth groups, and community centres.Since launching in 2023, CRAFT has engaged more than 54,000 participants through workshops, festivals, after-school programmes, and public events. The new funding aims to increase participation by 20% by 2027 while improving access for rural communities, migrant families, and schools that are traditionally underrepresented in STEM education.
