Hungary’s premier handball training center, the Nemzeti Kézilabda Akadémia (NEKA), wrapped up its summer camp this past week, hosting a record 184 children who enjoyed a unique mix of sports and leisure activities.
Held at the academy’s modern facilities on the Hungarian coast, the camp blended intensive handball sessions with a wide range of recreational programs. Throughout the week, participants explored an adventure park, visited an amusement park, went bobsledding, toured the Globe Observatory, and spent time relaxing at the beach—giving them an unforgettable taste of summer life in Hungary.
“All our camps so far have been held in a very good atmosphere, and this time was no different,” said Bence Mikita, head coach of the NEKA U16 boys’ team. “I think the point is that the young people gain insight into how life goes on at our academy, and have a good time in the process.”
The campers departed with smiles and promised to return next year, highlighting NEKA’s success not only in nurturing future handball talent but also in offering a vibrant glimpse into academy life in Hungary.
