The Neumann Janos University has once again drawn strong interest from prospective students, with nearly 7,000 applicants selecting the institution in the 2026 admission cycle.Out of these, 1,736 candidates listed the university as their first choice, and with additional admissions rounds, around 2,000 new students are expected to enroll in September. This would bring the total student population to over 5,600, reflecting steady growth despite a nationwide decline in higher education applicants.Engineering and IT programs remain the most popular, particularly at the GAMF Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, which received the majority of applications. A newly launched electrical engineering program developed in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz has quickly become one of the most sought-after courses, highlighting the strong link between regional industry and academic pathways. The Faculty of Economics has also seen rising demand, with nearly 2,000 applications, while agricultural programs continue to grow steadily, driven by increasing interest in sustainability and rural development.Overall, the figures confirm the university’s stable growth trajectory and its strong position as a practice-oriented institution supporting regional economic development.
