
Neumann János University has announced plans to establish a Security Awareness Knowledge Center aimed at strengthening cooperation between academia, government institutions, and economic stakeholders in the field of safety and prevention.Speaking at the conference titled “Security Awareness in the Interdisciplinary Space,” Tamás Fülöp, rector of the university, emphasized that security today is no longer just a technical issue but a complex challenge involving geopolitical, social, economic, and educational dimensions.During the event, the university signed a declaration of intent to cooperate with the National Crime Prevention Council. Its president, József Hatala, expressed optimism about the initiative, noting the council’s expanding role in crime prevention efforts.The establishment of the center was initiated by Attila Kasznár, a department head at the university. According to him, the planned center will function as a “fusion hub” that integrates various security-related initiatives and supports cooperation between institutions involved in prevention and safety culture development.The initiative aims to create a unified platform in Hungary for addressing security awareness and crime prevention issues while promoting collaboration between research, education, and public institutions.
