The university will welcome 3,544 new students this academic year—a significant increase of 580 students or nearly 20% compared to last year. This number reflects admissions across bachelor’s, master’s, and undivided programs and is expected to grow further following additional rounds of applications.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (BTK) has seen remarkable growth with 2,530 students admitted, marking a 25.9% increase from the previous year and making it the third most popular faculty nationwide in state-funded full-time programs. New programs like the Economics and Management bachelor’s and the Special Education bachelor’s have attracted strong interest, while the psychology program remains one of the most sought-after, enrolling 653 students—including a newly available part-time master’s track.
The Faculty of Law and Political Sciences (JÁK) also recorded a stable but high-quality intake of 818 students, with a particularly competitive entry into the five-year law degree, where the minimum admission score exceeded 420 points, one of the highest in the country.
Meanwhile, the Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics (ITK) experienced a striking 32% surge in admissions, highlighting growing demand for fields such as Engineering Informatics and Molecular Bionics. This trend underscores the faculty’s rising prestige and appeal among prospective students interested in technology and engineering.
Pázmány’s diverse academic portfolio continues to expand in response to social and labor market needs, positioning the university as a dynamic and sought-after institution in Hungary’s competitive higher education landscape.
The university congratulates all newly admitted students and encourages those who were not admitted to participate in the upcoming supplementary admission process. With its broad range of programs and increasing enrollment, Pázmány Péter Catholic University looks forward to welcoming a vibrant new generation of scholars in the 2025/26 academic year.
