Peter Larsson, Municipal Director of Örebro Municipality, will be the keynote speaker at the Åre Risk Event organized in connection with Mid Sweden University. Drawing on his experience leading the municipality through one of Sweden’s most severe modern crises, he will discuss leadership when facing unimaginable events.Larsson, who has served as municipal director since 2021, has managed several major challenges including riots, gang-related violence, the pandemic, and the refugee crisis. He will particularly reflect on the municipality’s response to the tragic school shooting at Risbergska school in February 2025, emphasizing transparency, empathy, and clear communication during times of extreme uncertainty.At the event, he will share both institutional lessons and personal insights on crisis management, highlighting the importance of preparation, collaboration with authorities, and long-term recovery efforts. The Åre Risk Event focuses on leadership under pressure and aims to strengthen organizational readiness for future crises.
