
The 18th RCSI MiniMed Programme welcomed 250 Transition Year students in person, with thousands more joining online, offering an immersive introduction to medicine, healthcare, and now dentistry through the newly added MiniDentistry component.Students explored cutting-edge medical and dental technologies via interactive lectures, clinical skills workshops, and tours of RCSI’s Sandyford Dental Education Centre. The week included sessions on antibiotic resistance, keyhole surgery, transplantation processes, and insights into careers in pharmacy, physiotherapy, and biomedical sciences.Dr Sinead Toomey, Academic Lead for the programme, highlighted that MiniMed provides students with authentic exposure to healthcare professions, inspiring the next generation of clinicians and researchers.
