
RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences held its annual Research Day on 3 March 2026, highlighting the breadth and impact of research across the University. The event featured presentations, posters, and showcases from undergraduate to senior researchers, covering topics such as physiotherapy, nursing, immunology, neurosciences, cancer, drug delivery, and biomaterials.The John J. Ryan Distinguished Lecture was delivered by Professor Margaret A. Pericak-Vance, a leading human geneticist, on ‘The Global Genetics of Alzheimer’s Disease: Pathway to Prevention and Treatment’. The day also celebrated achievements with awards recognizing innovation, public and patient involvement, research impact, and commercialisation initiatives, including projects in clinical trials, digital-health technologies, and psychosis research collaborations.Professor Fergal O’Brien, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at RCSI, emphasized the day’s role in fostering collaboration, translating research into solutions, and addressing global health challenges.
