The INVEST Research Flagship at the University of Turku has developed a new Nordic welfare state model that combines social investments and interventions to improve societal well-being. The model focuses on proactive measures, such as early childhood education, and continuous assessment of policy effectiveness. Researchers emphasize that the approach allows policymakers to adapt measures over time, addressing social inequalities before they escalate. The findings have been published in the book Beyond the Nordic Welfare State – Extending Social Investments with Interventions.
