
Thirty-two high school students from the Pilsen Region took part in the sixth edition of the ScienceFEL Academy at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of West Bohemia. Over a week, they tackled real technical challenges in labs, working on projects such as sustainable minimalist housing, racing cars, smart textiles, robotics, e-textiles, image recognition, and acoustics.The program emphasizes independent problem-solving, teamwork, and learning from trial and error, with lecturers serving as mentors. Students presented their results at a closing conference attended by 150 peers and guest speakers, including representatives from industry.Supported by the Pilsen Region, ScienceFEL Academy gives students a hands-on introduction to university research. The next edition is planned for autumn 2026.
