Semmelweis University has nearly doubled the number of its highly cited scientific publications, highlighting a significant rise in global research impact.According to the university’s latest data, more than 60 publications now exceed three times the average citation rate in their respective fields—almost double the 34 articles recorded in 2025. These highly cited works reflect strong international recognition and scientific influence.Top-ranked publications cover diverse fields such as artificial intelligence in healthcare, cancer biomarker research, and immune system studies. Leading contributors include Béla Merkely and several prominent university researchers.University leadership emphasized that the growth reflects increasing research quality, global visibility, and collaboration. The institution has also improved its international standing, ranking among the world’s top 200 universities in medical and health sciences.The university continues to invest in research infrastructure, PhD programs, and international partnerships to further strengthen scientific excellence and innovation.
