Semmelweis University is set to host its largest-ever Freshman Camp this September, with up to 1,200 new students expected to attend the event at a new location on Lake Balaton.
The four-day camp, running from 4–7 September, will feature academic preparation sessions, health screenings, and team-building activities. Organisers say the event has been redesigned to better support students as they begin studies in medicine and health sciences.
The later date and expanded format are expected to attract more international students than in previous years. The programme includes faculty introductions, study skills workshops, and information on mentoring and scholarship opportunities.
Around 350 senior students and 80 university staff will assist at the camp. Medical services and on-site security will be provided by the university.
