Members of the South East Technological University staff choir celebrated after winning second place in the Workplace Choir Category at the Fingal International Festival of Voices in Dublin. This was the choir’s first international competition.The group performed the Irish favourite Oró sé do bheatha bhaile and Cyndi Lauper’s classic Time After Time. Led by Sinéad Crowley, Regina Hanley, and Oonagh Drohan, the choir has grown since its formation in 2023, holding weekly rehearsals and workshops to strengthen wellbeing and university community across all departments.Dr Caroline McGarry, Assistant Head of the Department of Education for the Music School and choir member, said the achievement reflects not only musical talent but also the strong community created by the group.The choir is part of the SETU Music School, which has been leading music education in Waterford and the south east for over forty years.
