SETU celebrated major success at the Knorr Professional Student Chef of the Year 2026 competition. Rebecca Mahon won the top prize for her “borderless cuisine” menu, while Wiktoria Hybs secured the Gold Award in the Knorr Assistants Competition, demonstrating exceptional culinary skills.The competition, held at Technological University of Shannon, challenged participants to create innovative two-course menus. Both students, along with lecturer Tina Walsh, will enjoy a European culinary experience in recognition of their achievements.Dr Don O’Neill, Head of Culinary and Hospitality at SETU, praised the students and staff for their dedication and talent, marking a historic milestone for the university’s culinary programmes.
