Researchers in South Bohemia have launched a unique collaboration between the Faculty of Science at the University of South Bohemia, Ceske Budejovice Hospital, and the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The projects MEDDA and BUDDIAG aim to advance early detection of infections threatening premature infants using data, artificial intelligence, and interdisciplinary approaches.
MEDDA focuses on creating a modern data platform to integrate laboratory and clinical data, identifying early biomarkers for late-onset neonatal sepsis. BUDDIAG develops advanced diagnostic tools analyzing metabolic processes from minimal blood samples to guide personalized treatment and nutrition for newborns.
This collaboration combines academic research, clinical expertise, and technological innovation to improve care for premature infants, with potential applications at regional, national, and international levels.
