Dr Sarah Sartori, Higher Education Strategic Project Lead, was named Employee of the Year for her leadership of the Palestinian Scholars Sanctuary Initiative, which expanded the University of Sanctuary programme to provide fully funded scholarships and comprehensive supports for displaced scholars. Her work has played a key role in fostering a culture of dignity, empathy, and shared responsibility across the university.
SETU also celebrated the national recognition of Róisín Shanahan, Sexual Violence and Harassment Prevention and Response Manager, who was shortlisted for the Emerging Leader Award. Her trauma informed and survivor centred approach has strengthened prevention, education, and response frameworks, positioning SETU as a leader in this field.
The awards mark a proud milestone for the university and reinforce its dedication to creating a respectful, safe, and inclusive campus for staff and students.
