
The Spanish ambassador H.E. María Pérez Sánchez-Laulhé visited the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, highlighting growing interest in Spanish language courses, which have 200 students enrolled this year. She emphasized cooperation in science, technology, and AI, alongside promoting Spanish culture in the Czech Republic.Vice-Rector Josef Basl noted UWB’s collaboration with Spanish partners in 15 research projects across fields like nuclear energy, nanotechnology, and transport. During the visit, the Embassy presented the 31st edition of the Ibero-American Prize, inviting Czech university students to submit essays in Spanish or Portuguese on topics related to Latin America, the Caribbean, or the Iberian Peninsula. Applications are open until 16 March, with a prize of USD 1,500.
