The 2025/26 spring semester has officially begun at the Eszterházy Károly Catholic University, marked by significant infrastructure developments and growing student numbers. At a press conference, Rector Dr. Pajtókné Dr. Ilona Tari highlighted ongoing renovations, including landscaping around the B building, reconstruction plans for the historic Lyceum building, and the expansion of dormitory capacity with modern apartment-style accommodation.
A key milestone is the new home of the Faculty of Arts at 16 Széchenyi Street, which will function both as an educational facility and a cultural space open to the public. The faculty plans exhibitions and programs connected to the Eger Spring Festival, including collaborative projects with national and international partner institutions.
This semester, more than 5,000 bachelor’s students, 1,000 master’s students, and over 800 teacher training students have begun their studies. University leaders also emphasized the availability of scholarships supporting students’ academic progress.
