The Arctic Ocean 2025 expedition, organized by the Stockholm University Department of Meteorology, is underway. The icebreaker Oden departed Longyearbyen on August 10, carrying 18 PhD students participating in a research school on the Arctic climate system. Early observations included the first ice sightings, radiosoundings, and the activation of remote sensing instruments. The program combines lectures with practical fieldwork, including seabed mapping and meteorological measurements.
