Hungary | April 4, A local student visiting the recent modern art exhibition expressed strong criticism, questioning the artistic value of some installations. The student described certain exhibits, including rotting substances in bottles, as puzzling and unappealing. “I can’t understand this form of modern art,” the student said, adding that many rooms felt like a “trash cleanup” with objects presented as “priceless forms” despite appearing as discarded materials. While some installations received praise, including the light tunnel, mirror-light room, water room, and a large balloon display, the student noted persistent issues such as malfunctioning lights, which diminished the experience and opportunities for photography. Criticism was also directed at certain works relying on abstract concepts like laughter, which the student found meaningless.“I understand artists want to create something new, but why not something beautiful?” the student concluded, emphasizing that aesthetic appeal remains timeless. The exhibition, intended to challenge conventional perceptions of art, has sparked mixed reactions among visitors, highlighting the ongoing debate over the boundaries of modern art.
