Universities across Hungary have launched the annual “Thank a Teacher” campaign, encouraging students to recognise and celebrate the contributions of instructors who have made a significant professional or personal impact during the academic year.
Organised by the Department of Education Development and Talent Support, the initiative invites students to submit messages of appreciation—either anonymously or by name—via an online form by 31 July 2025. The collected messages will be delivered to nominated instructors, each accompanied by a certificate of recognition.
The campaign aims to highlight the emotional and human dimension of teaching, focusing on the lasting impression educators leave beyond the lecture hall. According to organisers, positive feedback not only uplifts teachers but also reinforces the student-teacher connection at the heart of academic life.
Students are also encouraged to participate in promoting the campaign. They may choose to allow their anonymised messages to be featured in official communications—including posters, social media posts, and the university website—or take part in short videos to raise awareness among their peers.
Only positive messages will be included, ensuring the initiative remains a celebration of gratitude and encouragement.
Further details, including the submission form and participation guidelines, are available on the university’s official platform.
