
Students from Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon achieved notable results at the National University Taekwondo Championship organized by Federação Académica do Desporto Universitário. The competition took place on 2026, in Vila Nova de Gaia, bringing together student athletes from universities across Portugal.Beatriz Cacheira from Escola Superior de Saúde de Lisboa and Tomás Figueiredo from Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa secured two bronze medals in the mixed pairs Kup event, finishing in third place. Their performance highlighted strong teamwork and technical skills during the championship.Other students also represented the institution in the competition. Beatriz Albuquerque from Escola Superior de Educação de Lisboa and Pedro Ramiro from Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração de Lisboa participated in different categories. In the individual Kup competition, Cacheira placed sixth, Albuquerque finished ninth, and Figueiredo secured tenth place, while Ramiro achieved fifth place in the under-74 kg category.The institution congratulated all participating students for their performance, emphasizing its continued commitment to promoting university sports and the holistic development of its students.
