Széchenyi István University is offering a second chance for applicants who were not admitted through the general admission process or who did not apply earlier this year. Applications for the supplementary admissions are open until August 7, 2025, for both state-funded and self-financed programs starting in September.
On the evening of July 23, prospective students received notification about whether they had been admitted to one of their chosen institutions. At the same time, the official website felvi.hu published the admission point thresholds. Out of the applicants, 4,739 students celebrated their acceptance to Széchenyi István University. Despite a significant increase in the minimum admission scores for most programs, the number of admitted students grew by 7.5% compared to last year — a new record for the university.
For those who were not admitted or did not apply during the general admission, the supplementary admission offers a valuable opportunity. Applications will be accepted from July 30 to August 7 through the e-felvételi system on the felvi.hu website. It is important to note that applicants can only apply to one program at one institution during this procedure.
The university has announced a total of 62 undergraduate, master’s, undivided degree, and higher education vocational programs available in the supplementary admission. Among these, 18 programs are also offered in English. Including both full-time and part-time options, this means 136 distinct courses are open to candidates.
Popular courses included in the list are logistics engineering, technical management, international studies, social pedagogy, agricultural engineering, ESG (environmental, social, and governance) specialist, law, modern technologies and cybersecurity law, civil engineering, nursing and patient care, software engineering, business management, and commerce and marketing.
Further details about the supplementary admissions and the available courses can be found on felvi.hu or by contacting the university at felveteli@sze.hu.
On July 23, the university hosted a “Pont Ott Party,” where many students celebrated their admission results together. The supplementary admissions provide another opportunity for those who were not admitted or who did not apply earlier this year to begin their higher education journey this September.
