, in partnership with Westmeath County Council, has begun initial works on a new Digital Hub in Athlone town centre as part of a major regeneration project on Northgate Street.
The two stage development will transform a prominent town centre site, with early works supported by funding from the Just Transition Fund Programme. These works include site preparation and the conservation of a protected nineteenth century former workhouse building. The planned Digital Hub will provide flexible space for digital innovation, enterprise, research, education, and community engagement, strengthening links between industry, higher education, and the region.
