The men’s and women’s rugby teams of University College Dublin secured victories over Trinity College Dublin to claim this year’s Colours Cup.
The UCD women delivered a dominant 84–0 win, continuing an unbeaten season in which no team has scored against them. The men’s team followed with a hard-fought 19–13 victory in challenging weather conditions at Trinity’s College Park.
Both matches were attended by UCD President Professor Orla Feely. The annual Colours fixtures are a long-standing rivalry between the two universities, with the men’s competition dating back to 1952 and the women’s tournament established in the 2014–2015 season.
