Nicolas Vandewalle, full professor at the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Liège (ULiege) and director of the GRASP laboratory, has been appointed Francqui Research Professor for 2025-2028. The prestigious mandate allows him to focus primarily on research, reducing teaching responsibilities and receiving financial support from the Francqui Foundation. Vandewalle will develop groundbreaking research in active matter physics, exploring non-reciprocal interactions in natural and artificial systems. His work has already attracted numerous international collaborations, positioning him at the forefront of European research in this emerging field.
