The University of Liege has entered into a three year partnership with the Belgian public broadcaster RTBF to foster knowledge exchange between academia and media. The collaboration focuses on sustainability and transition, with ULiège providing training for RTBF staff on these key issues.
The initiative also aims to increase the visibility of ULiège experts in the media, while improving the university’s online course Sustainability and Transition with input from RTBF journalists. In return, ULiège experts will receive tailored media coaching to strengthen their communication skills, with a particular focus on promoting female experts who remain underrepresented in public discourse.
As part of the project, 15 participants recently took part in an immersive training day at RTBF, including workshops on interviews, video capsules, and news simulation exercises. More sessions are scheduled through 2027, with the possibility of expanding the partnership to other media outlets in the future.
