The University of Lisbon has joined the Smart City of Rock as its first official University Partner, strengthening the connection between scientific research, startups, and real world urban innovation. The initiative, created by Rock in Rio Lisboa in partnership with Liquid Innovation Co., transforms the festival into a living laboratory for testing data driven and sustainable solutions.
Through this partnership, academic knowledge from one of Portugal’s largest research ecosystems will be applied in real festival conditions, supporting innovation in areas such as smart infrastructure, mobility, health, security, sustainability, and education. The Smart City of Rock will debut at the next edition of Rock in Rio Lisboa, hosting over 100000 participants daily and offering startups the opportunity to validate solutions with global scalability.
