The University of Łódź invites the public to the finissage of the exhibition “Yakumo-goto i przyjaciele” (Yakumo-goto and Friends), taking place on 9 August 2025 (Saturday) from 18:00 to 20:00 at ul. Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie 11, Łódź.
Held under the honorary patronage of the Embassy of Japan in Poland, the exhibition is inspired by Japanese art and explores themes of cultural dialogue and artistic friendship. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the participating artists: Joanna Zakrzewska, Ewa Tomporek-Fukuoka, Joanna Rajch, and Edyta Topczewska-Nowicka.
During the event, guests will be able to discuss the artists’ inspirations, their spiritual and aesthetic journeys, and how Japanese culture resonates within their creative work. The exhibition reflects years of collaboration, mutual respect, and artistic dialogue, symbolically likened to the harmonious yet multi-voiced sounds of the yakumo-goto, a traditional Japanese instrument.
The event is free of charge and welcomes anyone interested in art, Japanese culture, and meeting exceptional creators.
