The University of Miskolc hosted a delegation led by Professor Yang Ho Lee of Kyonggi University, head researcher of the Economic Innovation Partnership Program between South Korea and Hungary (EIPP Korea–Hungary), to discuss future cooperation in research and innovation.
The visit aimed to explore joint R&D projects, mutual strategies for entering the European market, and collaboration opportunities within the Horizon Europe and EUREKA programs. The meeting built on earlier discussions from December 2024, where South Korean experts highlighted strong interest in working with Miskolc on projects related to sustainability, mobility, and climate protection.
Plans also include introducing a South Korean-developed hydrogen fuel cell electric bus to Miskolc, potentially advancing the city’s eco-friendly public transport initiatives.
The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Péter Szűcs, Vice-Rector for General and Scientific Affairs, along with representatives from multiple faculties, the Institute of Applied Earth Sciences, InnoME TTC Ltd., the Grant and Project Coordination Center, and the Directorate of Science and International Relations.
