The University of Miskolc officially launched the Fifth Miskolc University Spring Festival with a festive Easter concert held in the ceremonial hall of the institution. The event marked both the opening of the spring cultural series and a showcase of the artistic diversity of the Bartok Bela Faculty of Music.The concert featured performances by the faculty’s flute and early music ensemble, women’s choir, and string orchestra, bringing to life the rich musical traditions of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The program also reflected the spiritual depth of sacred music, creating an immersive experience for the audience.A highlight of the evening was the performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams Five Mystical Songs, presented by the faculty’s symphony orchestra, mixed choir, and vocal ensemble. The piece featured baritone soloist Haja Zsolt, a distinguished artist from the Hungarian State Opera.In his opening remarks, Vice Rector Professor Peter Szucs emphasized the importance of the festival in promoting cultural engagement and showcasing the role of the faculty in both artistic education and cultural contribution. The spring festival continues with a variety of programs celebrating music, arts, and academic creativity.
