The University of Miskolc has renewed its cooperation agreement with Malaysia’s Sunway University, expanding opportunities for intercultural education initiatives. The collaboration primarily supports the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences’ English Linguistics and Literary Studies Department, enabling students to participate in an intercultural video project aimed at improving global awareness and communication skills.
The project earned Sunway’s “Teaching and Learning Innovation Challenge” Gold Award in 2025 for its sustainable and inclusive education model. Over the next five years, the two institutions plan to develop joint courses, encourage collaborative research and publications, and launch student mobility programs including internships and study visits.
The signing was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Zita Horváth and Dr. Nicholas Lee, Director of Sunway’s English Education Centre. They emphasized that the partnership enhances employability for humanities students and fosters global competence through shared best practices and multicultural dialogue.
During the visit, Dr. Lee and fellow lecturer Dr. Tamás Kiss delivered a public lecture highlighting the importance of intercultural competencies and conscious communication in diverse work environments.
