The University of Pécs celebrated the Lunar New Year at its Faculty of Health Sciences with a vibrant cultural event organized by the Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine. Held on 13 February, the celebration welcomed the Year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of energy, progress, and renewal in Chinese astrology.
The programme featured Chinese musical performances, traditional and modern dances, and cultural showcases prepared by students and teachers of the Confucius Institute. The event offered a meaningful opportunity for Chinese students studying in Pécs to experience an important tradition away from home, while also promoting cultural exchange within the academic community.
The celebration highlighted the university’s long standing commitment to international engagement and intercultural understanding, strengthening ties between Hungarian and Chinese traditions.
