Hungarian experts from the University of Pécs and Danubiana Ltd. have developed three unique grape-based gins—green, pink, and red—using innovative processing technologies. The project, funded by the EU and Hungarian government, addresses the challenge of unsold wine grapes by creating new, market-ready gin products with extra-fragrant qualities. Researchers explored new ways to use grape varieties and even incorporated grape flowers, leaves, and seeds into their recipes. The new gins are expected to launch this year, showcasing a breakthrough in both Hungarian viticulture and beverage innovation.
