
Attila Fábián, rector of the University of Sopron, participated in the 3rd Uzbek–Hungarian Rectors’ Forum held in Uzbekistan in early March. The multi-day event aimed to strengthen academic and research cooperation between Hungarian and Uzbek higher education institutions.The forum took place in major Uzbek cities including Tashkent and Samarkand. Discussions focused on the future of education and research, highlighting topics such as artificial intelligence, university–industry collaboration, technology transfer, and innovation.During the meetings, the rector of the University of Sopron signed cooperation agreements with several Uzbek institutions, including the National University of Uzbekistan and Tashkent State Agrarian University, among others. These partnerships aim to expand joint research, academic exchanges, and international cooperation programs between the universities.The forum marked an important step in strengthening the University of Sopron’s internationalization strategy and opening new opportunities for collaboration with Central Asian higher education and research institutions.
