The University of Szeged has significantly strengthened its diagnostic capabilities in Szentes with the installation of advanced radiological equipment aimed at improving early disease detection and patient care.The development includes a modern 128-slice CT scanner and a high-tech digital mammography system, both designed to enhance the early identification of serious conditions such as lung cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and breast tumors. These upgrades ensure faster, more accurate, and safer examinations for patients in the region.The radiology unit, operating under the Szent-Györgyi Albert Clinical Center, serves as a key diagnostic hub not only for local patients but also for a wider regional population. Increasing patient demand and a sharp rise in CT scans in recent years highlighted the urgent need for modernization, replacing older systems that no longer met current medical standards.The newly installed CT system enables quicker imaging with reduced radiation exposure, while the advanced mammography equipment significantly improves the accuracy of breast cancer screening.
