Researchers at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen are advancing infrared (IR) technologies to protect health and human lives. The Infrared Technologies Team at NTC UWB, in collaboration with the Integrated Rescue System (IRS), is exploring applications from monitoring missing persons to fire safety and thermodiagnostics in healthcare.
The recently completed NAKOMIR project established the university as the national contact point for IR security technologies. Building on this, the LABIR-PAV-2 project aims to develop the first functional prototypes of IR devices tailored to IRS needs by 2028. Researchers are engaging with domestic and international partners to implement innovative solutions for life-critical scenarios.
