Veszprém, May 27, 2025 — Laughter, tears, and reflection filled the E Chamber Hall of Pannon University as the institution presented a deeply personal interview collection marking its 75th anniversary. The publication, titled 75 év – 75 szívből jövő történet (“75 Years – 75 Stories from the Heart”), features diverse life paths tied to the university through decades of academic, professional, and personal journeys.
The idea, initiated by former rector András Gelencsér, replaces a traditional chronicle with 75 interviews showcasing how profoundly and differently individuals connect to a university.
In his opening remarks, Rector János Abonyi described the event as one of the most emotional moments of his term. “This book proves there are countless ways to belong to a university,” he noted. Chancellor Zsolt Csillag added that the strength of the institution lies not in buildings but in the people who bring it to life.
Former rectors, alumni, faculty, and student leaders shared memories under four themes: leadership, alumni success, research and innovation, and student life. Stories ranged from life-changing industrial visits and research breakthroughs to humorous and nostalgic moments from student events like VEN and the Regatta.
The evening closed not only a celebratory year but also reaffirmed a sense of community, identity, and continuity for Pannon University’s future.
