
Linda Liljedahl, a teacher at Malmö University, is serving as expert commentator for all short track events during the Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina. In addition to providing live commentary, she appears in the studio to introduce the sport and explain tactics and race dynamics to viewers.Liljedahl teaches primarily within the Subject Teacher Programme and the Primary Teacher Programme with a focus on Physical Education and Learning. Her instruction covers movement practices, sports theory, and training science. She emphasizes developing students’ movement skills, noting the satisfaction of seeing students gain confidence and competence on the ice, even if they have never skated before.Having competed in short track as an athlete and later worked as a coach—including coaching at the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympics—Liljedahl draws on extensive elite sports experience. She highlights the connection between her academic work and her practical coaching expertise, stating that teaching students and coaching Olympic athletes both involve developing physical and mental capacity and fostering confidence and balance.
