Professor Jiří Zima, the newly appointed Rector of Charles University, outlined his top priorities in a recent interview. His immediate focus includes completing the Kampus Albertov construction, advancing digital systems such as the Studijní informační systém (SIS), and creating a calmer, more open university environment.Long-term goals involve expanding international opportunities, attracting postdoctoral researchers and successful alumni, and strengthening the university’s societal role. Zima also supports responsible AI integration in learning, encourages excellence in research including ERC grants, and promotes gender equality through childcare support for female researchers.The Didaktikon at Kampus Hybernská, a science outreach program for schoolchildren, was highlighted as a successful example of community engagement.
