Researchers from Aalborg University have secured a 38 million Danish kroner grant from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust to investigate the earliest biological changes in Crohns disease. Using Danish health data and biobank samples, the team aims to better understand disease onset and develop predictive models for prevention. The study will analyze 3,000 blood samples from future Crohns patients compared with 3,000 control samples. Insights from this project may help prevent chronic illnesses both in Denmark and internationally.
