A major national research grant has been awarded to support the expansion of advanced research infrastructure dedicated to cultural heritage studies. The funding will strengthen interdisciplinary research by enabling new laboratory capabilities, cutting-edge analytical equipment, and international collaboration within a European research infrastructure framework.
The project focuses on innovative, largely non-invasive scientific methods that combine natural sciences, engineering, and the humanities to study, preserve, and understand cultural heritage objects. It will support long-term research activities, improve access to specialized facilities, and contribute to the development of new methodologies used by researchers and conservation professionals across Europe.
The investment also reinforces participation in a broader European research infrastructure, enhancing cooperation between universities, research institutes, museums, and cultural institutions while positioning Polish research teams among leading contributors in heritage science.
