
Margit Höfler has been appointed Professor of Cognitive Research at the University for Continuing Education Krems, effective March 1, 2026. The new professorship strengthens the Department for Dementia Research and Nursing Science and focuses on fundamental and applied research into cognitive processes in adulthood, particularly memory, attention, and learning. Höfler plans to establish a research lab using methods such as eye tracking and contribute to strategic development, securing national and European funding, and advancing interdisciplinary dementia research. Her expertise includes visual attention, cognitive research in older adults, and interdisciplinary projects in dementia prevention.
