Aalborg University research shows that young adults aged 18-29 prioritize salary, career, and job security more than older generations. The 2025 Labor Market Security Barometer, based on responses from over 17,000 workers, also finds that job security is especially important for young people due to more temporary or flexible employment. While they report higher stress levels, this is linked to employment uncertainty rather than generational values. Overall, Generation Z shares similar work priorities with other generations: respect, good colleagues, interesting tasks, and work-life balance.
